Here’s a great way to clear your chakras, increase your energy flow, and experience the benefits of shamanic energy healing.
It is with great humility that I post this website to launch my practice of Shamanic Medicine. You might be wondering, “What is Shamanic Medicine? And what exactly is a Shaman?” In a nutshell, Shamanic Medicine is the science of clearing anything in your body that blocks your flow of energy, and a Shaman is one who is either trained or naturally skilled at seeing and clearing invisible energies to promote optimal healing. Through shamanic energy healing, these energetic blockages can be identified and released, helping to restore balance, vitality, and well-being.

ABOUT SHAMANIC MEDICINE
The Shamans of ancient tribes in Siberia and Peru developed a healing tradition that was their way of life and a way to help others connect with nature and all of creation. While traditional “Shamanism” refers to the ancient spiritual practices of indigenous cultures worldwide, nowadays modern Shamanism is the use of these spiritual practices to promote healing by clearing the body’s chakras to increase energy flow. In the 1500’s when the Conquistadors captured Peru, the Inca peoples who practiced Shamanism survived in the mountains, always staying close to nature and connected to Spirit. Shamans are the Earth Keepers and the “seers,” who serve as guides to mediate the invisible world of Spirit with the visible world of matter. Shamanic Medicine is the practice of tracking any unseen forces that may need to be cleared to maintain optimal energy flow and oneness with all that is.

According to modern shaman Alberto Villoldo, who has spent most of his life studying and teaching Shamanic Energy Medicine–“Shamanism is founded on the notion that if you upgrade the quality and vibration of the luminous energy field, or LEF, the body will follow; that if you create the energetic conditions for health, the disease will go away; and that we can grow new bodies that age and heal and die differently. Alberto Villoldo’s Blog Describes the Illumination Process, March 6, 2022: “At the core of the shamanic energy healing session lies the Illumination process. Illumination achieves healing in three ways. First, it burns up the sludge and deposits adhering to the walls of a chakra, promoting longevity and strengthening the immune response. Second, it combusts the toxic energy around harmful physical and emotional imprints. Third, it scours clean the imprints in the Luminous Energy Field (LEF). When these imprints are erased, it is possible to change negative emotions and behaviors. The power of the immune system is unleashed, and physical healing is accelerated.
“Every imprint in the LEF is linked to a chakra through which it releases toxic data into the central nervous system. To better understand a client’s problem, I perform a chakra assessment to determine which is the compromised energy center.
“In the Inka shamanic traditions there are no “bad” energies. There are only energies that are “light,” and so support life, and energies that are “heavy,” which cannot be digested. The Illumination process transforms heavy energies into light, turning emotional wounds into sources of power and knowledge. Only one healing issue and one chakra should be worked on during an Illumination session.
“The entire process takes about an hour. After opening Sacred Space and enveloping my client in my Luminous Energy Field, I focus on the compromised chakra. Cradling my client’s head in both hands, I hold the pressure points at the base of the skull. These points, known in acupuncture as the heavenly gate, help to bring the client into a deep state of relaxation. While holding the deepening points for at least ten minutes, I softly ask what she is experiencing.
“Synchronizing my breathing with my client’s, I reach down and open the compromised chakra by holding one hand a few inches above it, sensing the swirling energy, and then rotating my hand counterclockwise three or four times. (Sometimes I use an eagle feather for this process, as it allows me to reach the lower chakras without leaving my place by my client’s head.)
“As soon as the chakra is opened, it begins to “backwash,” releasing its sludge and toxic energies. I often perceive dark streamers, like thick ribbons, swirling out of the chakra. I spin the chakra counterclockwise several times, since it can become clogged when it backwashes, and check in with my client to see how she is feeling.
“Some clients report a change in body temperature, or experience involuntary muscle spasms, or spontaneous jerking – signs that energies around the imprint are being combusted and expelled. I remind my clients that they can slow down or stop the process at any time by crossing their arms over their chest.
“Once I detect that my client has reached a state of natural resolution, I perform the Illumination. Reaching above my head with my right hand, I gather the energy of my eighth chakra and bring it down into the client’s open chakra. I visualize a radiant sun above my head and see my hand gathering scoops of sunlight and showering the chakra with this golden light. I repeat this step three times. The Illumination heals both physical and psychological conditions, overwriting the imprint with pure light.
“After the Illumination, I bring my hands once again to the base of the client’s occipital ridge and hold the deepening points for several minutes. This helps the client to relax while the luminous body establishes a new, healed architecture. Then, I balance the chakra by spinning it three or four times in a clockwise direction, and close my own Luminous Energy Field, gathering it back until it becomes a radiant orb above my head. I close Sacred Space after inviting my client to sit up and share her experience.”

NOTE: A word of caution, there is no claim that a Shaman heals diseases such as cancer, and Alberto Villoldo teaches us as Shamans to be sure that our clients continue working with conventional medicine as we facilitate opening their energy fields to increase their power to heal themselves. Alberto makes the distinction that we Shamans do not “cure” diseases, we help you “heal” them.
CLEARING YOUR LUMINOUS ENERGY FIELD
Your Luminous Energy Field is your chakra system, which includes seven chakras in your body and two above your head. The goal of a shamanic energy medicine session is to clear your chakras and increase your energy flow. As a Shaman, I am trained to assess the energy in your Luminous Energy Field (LEF) and clear any blocks or obstacles that need to be removed. In sections below, I describe the various healing modalities I can offer you to enhance your energy flow and optimal health. Among these clearing techniques are: Illumination, Extraction, Cord Cutting, Decoupling, and Bands of Power. Once your LEF is cleared, you then have an unobstructed flow of energy that gives you the power to heal yourself of any disease you may be experiencing.
THE INVITATION
I invite you to join me for a Shamanic Energy medicine session to clear your chakras and increase your energy flow. You are welcome to take advantage of a FREE initial telephone consultation. The core of all of the techniques is the Illumination Process, whereby I check to see if your chakras are spinning freely or if blocks need to be removed. But before we do anything, I take time to listen compassionately to whatever is going on for you. Often during healing energy sessions, insightful coaching will come through that I can share with you—with your permission.
The techniques below are described as what “the Shaman does” rather than what “I personally do” in the sense that my ego and personality are not present after I open sacred space and call upon Spirit to guide my steps and facilitate healing.
ILLUMINATION
In the Illumination Process, the Shaman helps you relax by doing some gentle rhythmic rattling and touching press points at the base of your skull. Once you are fully relaxed, the Shaman tracks your LEF to examine how your chakras are spinning or blocked. The Shaman can extract any blocks or dark patches, restore the healthy chakra spinning, and then wash the chakras with Divine energy from above to clear your chakras and increase your energy flow. Often at the end of an Illumination, the Shaman will see that there is a need to combine other techniques, such as extraction, cord cutting and/or decoupling.
EXTRACTION
During the Illumination Process, a Shaman may track a patch of darkness, hardness, or even sharpness (like shards of glass) in the client’s LEF. These imprints might be a toxic build-up of inherited beliefs, tangled knots holding irrational fears, or cords from others who are tapped into your energy field. Such imprints of negative life experiences may be blocking your flow of energy and preventing optimal healing.
Once a mass of crystallized energy is discovered, with your permission, the Shaman psychically digs beneath the mass, extracts it, and washes it with Divine soul energy. In this way, the extraction process allows the Shaman to remove toxic energies from an individual’s LEF so that physical healing can take place. Once the stagnant energy is extracted, the body knows how to repair itself.
CRYSTAL EXTRACTION
When in a weakened state, a client may fall prey to having an entity become attached to his/her body. Alcoholism and drug use often render bodies defenseless and susceptible to such entities. Or they can simply be past energies that have come in contact the client and attached themselves—even relatives or former relationships. When such an entity is attached, all of the client’s chakras are compromised, and the Shaman may need to use a thirteen-point, clear quartz crystal to extract the entity. Upon extracting the entity, both the Shaman and the client will feel a sense of relief and freedom.
CORD CUTTING
Imagine that people are connected by invisible but powerful cords, much like a baby’s umbilical cord. The Shaman can assess if there are any cords in your LEF that are binding you to others in toxic, painful ways. It could be any kind of past or present relationship — such as a former wife or husband, people who may have felt betrayed by you, or a person who has died and left your life but is still corded to you. These cords can keep a spirit bound to the places s/he has lived and the people s/he has loved or hurt. With permission, the Shaman can conduct a cord-cutting ceremony that ultimately clears your chakra field and frees the flow of energy.
DECOUPLING
The Decoupling Process is a way to help heal the fight or flight response and transform depression. This process resets the second chakra and aligns it with heart energy so that the client may experience safety, rest, and calm. The Shaman exchanges energy with your heart chakra and second (sacral) chakra, sending power to your nervous system. This creates a calming effect, helping you let go and relax. The process is very nurturing for the second chakra, the heart, and the body as a whole.

What fun it was to gather the items, blow our heartfelt prayers for ourselves and all beings into the items we collected–cotton for clouds, tin foil for stars, grains and flowers for the earth, candy for life’s sweetness, and even some money to burn for prosperity.
As a Shamanic medicine practitioner, Johanna can guide you and your group to create a prayer bundle for any occasion. Your prayer bundle is then wrapped and tied with a bow and later buried, burned, or submerged in water. What fun doing this together, blowing our silent prayers into items, wrapping the bundle in a beautiful bow, and safely burning it in a flowerpot in the yard beneath the stars! BANDS OF POWER
The Bands of Power are energetic screens of protection that the Shaman wraps around your chakras, like a piece of clothing or a shawl, and connects to your spine. These Bands, possessing the power of Spirit and the Elements–Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind– can protect you from emotional attack or any negative charge coming towards you.
SELF-HEALING
Whatever Shamanic techniques you may experience, the processes are designed to free up your flow of energy and increase your strength and presence in the moment. All of Shamanic Medicine is based on the belief that the body knows how to heal itself when we remove the blocks that prevent optimal flow of energy.
1.5 HOUR SHAMANIC HEALING SESSIONS
Johanna Maheshvari will gladly welcome you in her studio or come to your lodging in the Sedona area for a 1.5 hour Shamanic Healing Session to clear your chakras and restore optimal energy flow. Any session always begins with the question — “What brings you here?” The first priority is to listen to your concerns and make you feel comfortable. Then the process always begins with an Illumination that clears all of your chakras and reveals if any other techniques described above might be called for. Shaman Johanna Maheshvari is committed to having every session bring the client to a place of greater calm, well-being, energy flow, and strength.
Clearing Your Energy Field: Johanna will gladly welcome you in her Cornville studio or come to your lodging in the Sedona area for a 1.5 hour Shamanic Healing Session. The session is based on the fact that everything that happens to you in life, every up and down of daily living, affects your Light Body or Luminous Energy Field. A chakra clearing can help you restore your full flow of energy. This treatment can enable your body to have greater energy and strength to heal any medical concern you may be facing. The session always begins with the question — “What brings you here?” The first priority is to listen to your concerns and make you feel comfortable. Then the process always begins with a body scan and an Illumination that clears all of your chakras. Sometimes other techniques might be called for, such as cord cutting or crystal extraction to remove negative forces that may be attached to your body. Shaman Johanna Mosca is committed to having every session bring the client to a place of greater calm, well-being, energy flow, and strength.
What Happens? Johanna will listen to your concerns and ask you to choose a healing stone from her shaman’s mesa (medicine bag). As you express your concerns, you will be invited to blow all of the negative emotions and thoughts you want to release into your chosen sacred stone. If Johanna’s scan locates any blocked chakra, she will have you place this stone in that area as she gently holds her hands on healing press points at the back of your cranial ridge. You are fully clothed on a massage table, and all you need to do, while breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, is to be willing to let go and open up more fully. Your body takes care of the rest. Johanna will work with your healing press points until a body scan shows that you have released any blockage. Other instruments employed may be soothing shamanic rattles, cord-cutting swords, and double-terminated extraction crystals. At the close of the session, you are invited to share about your experience and to seek the wisdom of a Shamanic Oracle Card.
