WHAT HAPPENS IN A YOGA NIDRA SESSION?
Inner Restoration Yoga Nidra Stress Relief Session with Life Coaching
Yoga Nidra Classes in Sedona are available through Johanna as 1.5-hour iRest (Inner Restoration) Yoga Nidra sessions offered in her Cornville studio or as in-room sessions at your lodging in the Sedona area.
Johanna will schedule a 1.5 hour iRest (Inner Restoration) Yoga Nidra session in her Cornville studio or come to your lodging in the Sedona area. First, Johanna welcomes you and listens to whatever concerns you have or issues you may be facing. Then she guides you to sit or lie down in a comfortable position, make an intention for the healing session, and imagine what it must feel like to have your heart’s greatest desires fulfilled. The session is done fully clothed, lying down in what Yoga calls “the corpse position,” or reclining in an upholstered chair. After giving you time to create your intention and actually FEEL what it would be like to have your heart’s desires fulfilled in this moment, Johanna guides you in a gentle voice to scan your body, breathe more deeply, silently examine thoughts and emotions, access a joyous part of your being, and tap into your Higher Consciousness of Oneness with all and trust in the Universe. Inner Restoration Yoga Nidra helps you do just that—Restore Your Inner Peace and Contentment.
The Yoga Nidra process, which is being used successfully by the U.S. Government to help restore the well-being of shell-shocked veterans, helps you clear thoughts, sensations, or emotions arising in your body. As you relax into silence, It guides you to welcome whatever ideas, thoughts, images, and memories that may surface and simply let them go. In doing so, the inner focus helps you remove blocks and restore ultimate well-being. Coach Johanna offers relaxing silent sessions as one-on-one counseling, with a life coaching dialogue at the end called a Dyad. The session guides you to make peace with whatever is calling your attention and feel stronger. At the end, you and Johanna will discuss anything you would like to share, and you are welcome to ask for coaching. Nothing to bring. Johanna will provide a blanket for your comfort. Call 928-282-9900 to schedule a private session.

Choose Silent Yoga Nidra or “Dyad” Talk Session
Dyads are a one-on-one interactive form of Yoga Nidra in which client and Johanna confer. Below, clients describe the powerful effects of their private Yoga Nidra sessions:

After a Dyad Yoga Nidra Session
“My Yoga Nidra session was a wonderful way to slow down the chaotic, hectic speed of the day and find of place of space and rest. It helped melt away feelings of compressed timelines and overwhelm, replacing them with a sense of expansiveness and capacity, where there is more than sufficient time available to be present for self and others. A lovely timeout to re-center, re-vitalize and take back control of your own ship when waves of life get a little choppy.”
–Rita Reger
“Johanna, my Yoga Nidra dyad with you was very powerful in clarifying my next strides in the direction of my intentions for the upcoming stage of my life. Being in the incredible beauty of the Sedona area surely added to the magic. Thank you for opening your heart and skills to me.”
–Pam Alsum
“The yoga Nidra session helped me sort out my feelings about a situation. Afterwards I was able to handle it with confidence and clarity. It’s a powerful technique in the hands of a skilled and caring person like Johanna. Thank you for your help!”

RELAXATION AND STRESS RELIEF HEALING
Life Coaching, Stress Relief and Yoga Nidra Deep Relaxation
This healing session is derived from Inner Restoration Yoga Nidra, which is a technique being used with PTSD victims to help them release negativity and clear out hurtful emotions related to past challenges. Yoga Nidra classes in Sedona offer guided relaxation which helps clients reduce emotional trauma, bodily pain and stress, relax more, and sleep better. Note that the word “Nidra” means “sleep” or entering into “deeper levels of consciousness.” During sessions, clients are fully awake after discussing whatever challenges they may be facing. They are invited to lie down or recline in an easy chair as Johanna’s soothing voice guides them to go deeply into all levels of being.
First, clients are asked to create an intention for the session, and then are guided to scan their physical bodies to release tension and follow their breathing to a deeper experience of the thoughts and emotions that are arising. After examining the thoughts and emotions that surface, clients are guided to focus on whatever brings them joy and happiness. And finally, they are guided to tap into the Higher Conscious witness part of themselves that watches all that they experience from a place of total well-being.
Inner Restoration Yoga Nidra helps you observe and clear thoughts, sensations or emotions arising in your body. Be guided to remove blocks and restore ultimate well-being. iRest Meditation: The Practice of Being at HomeiRest Meditation (Integrative Restoration) is a modern-day evidence-based, mind-body approach to health, healing, wholeness, and well-being. The iRest protocol teaches self-regulation skills for managing sensations, emotions, and cognitions, and physical and mental well-being. iRest is designed as a secular practice, that has been developed to be accessible to all populations, from children to adults, across issues ranging from the enhancement of well-being, to healing PTSD, chronic pain insomnia and chemical dependency.
