Here’s what Guests Wrote About our
Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking Retreats
“The retreat was very refreshing.
I learned and was exposed to so many new things which enabled me to focus on me, learn about me and love myself a little bit more. Some of my favorite things during the week were hikes with fun and knowledgeable leaders, early morning yoga and the tea ceremonies. If I had to describe the retreat in one word, I would say, “enlightening.” — Peace and love, Martha
“The retreat was a wonderful experience.
The retreat was a wonderful experience. I loved hiking, doing Yoga, and meditating at the vortexes.”
— Julie Wildman
“The retreat was a joy in so many ways.
Johanna, the retreat was a joy in so many ways, from the fabulous backdrop of Sedona’s red hills to the sacred space that you created for us each and every day. The yoga, meditation, hiking, Buddhist temple, were all so lovingly arranged and delivered. Thank you for showing me a path to sacred places, both within and outside of me. You are a great teacher. I left feeling more at home in the world than I can ever recall, so I hope to return again some day. All my best,” — Ann, Arlington, VA
About your Sedona Retreat Leader:
Johanna Maheshvari Mosca, Ph.D
Johanna at Cathedral Rock Vortex
My vision for myself and my students is to make life a moving meditation in which we cultivate ongoing peace and contentment. I have published three books related to living the wisdom of Yoga—YogaLife: 10 Steps to Freedom; Cultivate Contentment: Using Ancient Wisdom to Thrive in Today’s World; and most recently, Teen Triumph: 10 Ways to a Winning Life. Starting in the 1990’s, I have completed numerous trainings with two 200-hour certifications in Kripalu Yoga and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Then I earned my 500 hours with the International Yoga College, studying mainly with Rama Jyoti Vernon. I followed that with two weeks in India, studying with TVK Desikachar and his son Kaustub at the Krishnamacharya Mandarim. In recent years, my focus on learning techniques to still the babbling mind has led me to complete two meditation teacher trainings, first 200-hours with the McLean Meditation Institute. Then I went on to pursue my current passion, studying I-Rest (Inner Restoration) Meditation with Richard Miller, and am now completing his Level III iRest Teacher Training. As an iRest Yoga Nidra Level II practitioner, I have been leading Yoga Nidra sessions indoors and outdoors for individuals and groups since 2015. A former “teacher specialist” for the NYC Public Schools, I have experience meeting my students at their own level and helping them stretch to the next stage of growth, whatever that might be for each individual. I feel honored and grateful when other beings trust me to guide them in Yoga and consciousness expanding reflection on the spiritual path.
