Perhaps you are facing a turning point and you need to get away to become clear on what is best for you to do. Or you may just feel it's time for you to go on a solo vacation and expand your consciousness through yoga.

    Recommendations from Solo Retreat Guests
  • Rachel Writes About her Retreat Experience:
I had a very rewarding time with Johanna in a private retreat in July 2007. After having worked in two very stressful jobs and ending a friendship that I had outgrown, I was feeling tired, confused, and burnt out with life. I decided that I needed to detox and focus on myself for a bit. I found Johanna on the Web and I felt that this was the place I should go and the person that I should work with on my journey.

Simply. Through meditations, conversations, and other treatments, I learned to release some of my tension and to accept myself and others. By the time I left the retreat, I had such a sense of inner peace and comfort that people who knew me well and people who had only met me a few times commented at how peaceful and serene I appeared.

However, the best thing to come out of the retreat was my baby Paige. My husband and I had tried to get pregnant for 5 years to no avail and were beginning fertility treatments. During the retreat I had mentioned my inability to conceive, and Johanna and I talked about my stress around it as well as some facets of my relationship that led me to put my husband down. Johanna coached me to accept him as he was and to not label him due to his differing ways of handling conflict.

After the retreat, in fact the day after, I conceived a baby.
I consider myself blessed that God led me to Johanna, and I look forward to continuing the journey in the near future.
  • Miki writes about her Retreat Experience:
"This was one of the best things I ever arranged for myself. I have a demanding, stressful job. I still remember the peaceful feeling I shared with Johanna at the mediation gardens and at her yoga space. She is a loving and free spirit, a perfect guide for any level of student. I really recommend this retreat for those who, like me, need to find balance and peace and recharge. After Johanna’s retreat, I find love in the small things and found inner peace to really enjoy exactly what is. “-- Miki, Japan

  • Jenny's Feedback on her February 2009 Retreat

Overall comment about the experience--
This was an excellent experience for me.  I became more focused and my thoughts and goals organized.  It was a time to focus on me.

About Johanna’s manner, knowledge and teaching--
Johanna is a breath of fresh air.  She is knowledgeable, kind, straight forward and fun.  It was amazing to listen to her experiences and teaching. I learned how to mediate to clear the mind so I could focus on the important matters in my life. I still mediate several times a week and love the yoga stretches for the spine.

The best things I got from the retreat, what I learned--
Life is a wonderful thing, and I’m truly grateful everyday for mine.  No matter how small something may seem to be it’s worth being thankful.  I found that I must take time for myself to make me the best person I can be than I can be the best person for everyone else.  Writing in a journal was a wonderful way to express myself and to understand my feelings.

How the retreat affected my life--
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this retreat; I had to trust my instincts and go for it.  I’m very grateful I did!!  It was better than I expected and gave me the focus I needed to move forward in a positive direction in my life.
Johanna ~ Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Jenny continues:What I would say to someone thinking about registering--
Talk with Johanna so you personally get a feel for her and the retreat.  She is great about making it about you and whatever problem you would like to work o
n or if you just want to get away.  There was NO pressure to talk about anything I didn’t want to talk about and Johanna has an excellent perception to help!!  You have time for yourself and the schedule Johanna sets up is very flexible.

ABOUT RAIN

Rain sometimes happens, even in Sedona. If there is a heavy rain or even snow, we will have alternate activities to the usually scheduled vortex yoga hikes, such as short vortex visits and trips to other places of interest. Also, the optional sweat lodges, that are not run by Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking, are usually cancelled by the leader in inclement weather. There are absolutely no refunds for weather changes or any other reason once a retreat has started.

RETREAT CANCELLATION POLICY

Life happens and sometimes we need to change plans. For all Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking vortex retreats, our policy is as follows--

  • Cancellation up to 30 days prior to Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking retreat start--payment is refunded minus $200 non-refundable registration fee per person.
  • With proper notification of at least 30 days, guests can transfer payment (minus $200 registration fee) to another Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking vortex retreat date within the same year.
  • Cancellation up to 15 days prior to Sedona retreat start,
---no refunds; 50% of retreat fee (minus $200 registration fee) can be applied to another retreat in the same year in the event of a documented medical emergency or death in the family.
